What's My Story?
In Fall 2025, we gathered a group of women for our second A Nurturing Pause retreat, themed "What's My Story?" The weekend offered an invitation to honor the unique experiences that have shaped each of us — and to intentionally choose what to carry forward into the next chapter.
Over three days, each participant arrived with her own journey, her own season of life. Together, we explored the elements of a good story — plot, character, defining moments — and turned that lens on ourselves. Through guided writing exercises, women identified the key stepping stones of their own narratives, mapped them visually, and began to see their stories from the outside in. We examined the moments that shaped us, the values that guide us, and the way we've been narrating our own lives — and whether that narration still rings true.
We weren't there to fix or solve, but to notice — to witness one another, honor our stories, and make space for what's ready to emerge. A group yoga session with Lake Anna Wellness Studio grounded us in the present, and we closed with a creative touch: writing haikus about our stories and painting decorated bookmarks to take home as a keepsake.
By the end of the retreat, participants left feeling nurtured, seen, and more connected to the story they are still writing.

Participants Said:
"SO many good things! The content was outstanding (writing prompts, reflection, meditations)! A good balance of writing/reflecting & sharing with free time. The food was amazing! Accommodations were great! The haikus were awesome and insightful!"
"All the prompts for guided reflection were incredibly helpful. The balance between personal and group time was nice."
"I enjoy experiences where I walk away feeling connected with others, especially when we started out as strangers. I was apprehensive wondering if I would enjoy this type of retreat, but felt like I was able to connect with others and reflect on myself."
"I appreciated how the prompts helped me reflect on a deeper level."
"I think it flowed well. The weekend was well setup on what to expect during the sessions. The flexibility of allowing sessions to flow and go where it needed to go was helpful to allow everyone to contribute and share. Meals were timed well and overall had a nice balance."
"This retreat will give you a safe and brave space to explore your story with a group of other supportive women. You will feel more connected with yourself by the end of the retreat."
